Our research focuses on the petrophysical and geomechanical characterisation of rock bodies at a range of spatial scales for the purpose of characterising flow heterogeneities, and to allow for improved modelling of fluid flow in porous media.

<p>We concentrate on five principal areas of research in the <a href="https://environment.leeds.ac.uk/see/dir-record/facilities-environment/936/petrophysics-laboratory">University of Leeds Petrophysics Laboratory</a>:</p> <ul> <li>The electrical properties of rocks</li> <li>Nanoparticle-based enhanced oil recovery</li> <li>The microstructural and flow properties of gas shales</li> <li>Carbonate petrophysics.</li> <li>Advanced fractal reservoir modelling</li> </ul> <p>We have opportunities for prospective postgraduate researchers.
