With the popularization of both point based data and neural networks, there is high interest in doing research in the overlap of these two areas. Neural networks are great at processing images, and point clouds can be represented as images. How can we optimize these representations to allow for faster algorithms to work with point clouds?

There is a particular question of interest in time-sequenced data and how that can be effectively represented.
