<h2 class="heading hide-accessible">Summary</h2>

In the Metaverse, we have an avatar; a virtual representation of ourselves. The quality of this representation may vary, being a close replica of our real bodies, or a simplified version that we are able to capture. How does that representation affects our actions/interactions in this environment? When is realism important, and when we can afford to have a less realistic avatar. This PhD will explore the effect of body representation in Virtual reality in communication/assistance scenarios. Can we manipulate body representation to improve performance in certain tasks?
